The Johanna-Mestorf-Academy at Kiel University (JMA) invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Position: Transformation and Crisis in Prehistoric and Archaic Societies.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual (Post-Doc) to conduct research related to transformation and crises in prehistoric and archaic societies.
The focus of research should deal with the reconstruction of social practices and cultural processes in prehistoric and/or historic contexts that are characterized by a high degree of change. Transformations are understood as multiscalar phenomena in which social and environmental contexts interact in spatio-temporal dimensions.
As prerequisites for employment, applicants should possess an outstanding doctoral degree in the field of archaeology or antiquity studies and present a research exposé of excellent content. Candidates will also be evaluated on their experience in an interdisciplinary research field related to human-environment relationships and their publication record.
The position contract will be awarded for up to three years, preferably beginning on January 1, 2016. The salary is set at the TV-L 13 (100%) level. The application deadline is October 1, 2015.
