Dr. rer. nat. in Agronomy

PhD project Soils and Relief Development during Holocene in Northern Germany (with Focus on Neolithic Age)
Research interests Geomorphometry – Quantitative land surface analysis and theoretical questions of geomorphometry; applications of geomorphometry in geoscience; land surface organisation.
Geoarchaeology – Reconstruction of palaeolandscapes of arid and humid regions, assessment of historical erosion during Holocene.
Landscape archaeology – Detection of archaeological objects that are artificial land form types, based on detailed DEMs (mainly from lidar data). Separation of artificial and natural land form types.
Pedometrics and agriculture – erosion modeling and creation of predictive maps of soil properties distribution. Investigation of relationships between land surface, soil properties and vegetation cover (natural and agricultural).
Geology – detection of tectonic structures on land surface in large scale. Correlations between land form types and minerals depositions in middle scale.
